Question Persuade Refer Training

SDSU Extension provides QPR (Question Persuade Refer) trainings to agricultural groups and rural communities interested in preventing suicide. The goal of this training is to save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors.

Helping Kids Cope and Understand Family Stressors

Research on clover cover crops grown in combination with four tillage and weed suppression methods was conducted at the SDSU Southeast Farm. Vegetable crops trialed included sweet corn and three varieties of cabbage.

Summer field days showcase South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station sites

Each summer, the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station system showcases its research stations with field days. The days include guided tours of each facility and presentations from SDSU and SDSU Extension researchers. Producers, industry professionals and members of the general public can see how winter wheat varieties are tested, or take a trip through a high tunnel.

Yankton Teen Gains Livestock Experience Through 4-H

4-H has allowed Ellie Wagner of Yankton, S.D. to explore different aspects of life that she normally wouldn't. Even though she lives in town, her club leader helped her become involved with showing livestock.

The South Dakota 4-H Teen Leadership Conference was held on the SDSU campus June 6-10, 2022. Attendees were given the opportunity to develop essential skills to become young community leaders.
