SDSU Extension 4-H awards 2024 scholarships

August 01, 2024

Fourteen youth from across the state were selected to receive these awards. Youth with at least five years of active membership in 4-H, current high school seniors, or those enrolled at SDSU are eligible to apply for the scholarships. These scholarships are funded through donors and SDSU Extension’s 4-H program.

Red Hawk First South Dakotan To Win National 4-H Youth in Action Award

Distinguished for her “drive to inspire her peers and give back to her Rosebud Sioux Tribe community through charitable veterinary work,” Red Hawk is the first South Dakota 4-H’er to win a Youth in Action award.

Yankton County 4-H members receive SDSU Extension Hands to Larger Service award

Yankton County 4-H received the 2022-2023 SDSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program Hands to Larger Service award based on their contributions to the statewide Paws for a Cause community service effort.

Bennett County 4-H member, Frank Huber, began 4-H when he was a Cloverbud and is now an eighteen-year-old who will be finishing his 4-H career this year. He will leave the program with some well-developed skills, such as leadership and bill writing.
