This hands-on workshop will have youth exploring the science behind their favorite foods as they explore leavening agents, gluten, and dairy. Youth will get to see science in action as they observe the difference between sourdough and yeast breads; explore properties of different types of flours, specifically the role that gluten plays in food products; and make their own queso.
Through the planned activities, youth will be making their own lunch!
