Topics include the importance of early conception, bull nutrition impacts on fertility, vaccination program design, as well as much more is on the agenda. This symposium brings together producers, researchers and industry professionals to engage with one another and discuss practices and strategies beef producers work with daily. The SDSU Extension Beef Team will be attending to network and learn from other experts as well. SDSU Extension hosts multiple Artificial Insemination schools across the state annually to teach artificial insemination skills and increase knowledge of reproductive management. The equation to successful reproduction is much more than just breeding cows, but also includes proper nutrition, breeding efficiency and health management. This school fills up very quickly and we want to provide more opportunities for beef producers to learn about reproductive strategies to drive successful breeding seasons.
SDSU Extension is offering free transportation to the symposium from multiple locations in South Dakota to encourage attendance at this learning opportunity. A pre-conference tour is also planned on September 16 as space allows. Participants must register for the preconference tour, symposium and hotel reservations on their own.
