Station 1: Dog Behavior Postures
This station will test the 4-H members’ knowledge of Dog Postures and what they mean.
Members should be familiar with:
- Body Language of Fear in Dogs Poster, CattleDog Publishing.
- 7 Real World Examples of Dog Body Language with Pictures & Quiz, All Things Dogs.
- How To Read Dog Body Language, American Kennel Club.
- Dog to English Translation Chart, Dogs for Defense K-9
Station 2: Breed Identification
This station will test the 4-H members’ knowledge of dog breeds. Beginners will be asked to identify 5 breeds, juniors will be asked to identify 10 breeds, and seniors will be asked to identify 10 breeds and the work they were bred to perform. All breeds will come from the American Kennel Club Working Group. 4-H members will be given a picture and a short description of the breed to be identified.

Station 3: External Parts of a Dog
This station will test the 4-H member’ knowledge of the external parts of a dog.

Station 4: Dog Health and Diseases
This station will test the 4-H members’ knowledge of Dog Diseases, Internal and External parasites.
- Common Worms and Intestinal Parasites in Dogs, The Spruce Pets.

Station 5: Famous Canines
This station will test the 4-H member’s knowledge of famous canines in history, movies, cartoons and literature. The test will be multiple choice/true or false. Beginners will answer the first 10 questions, juniors the first 15 questions and seniors will answer all questions.
