South Dakota 4-H Youth Participate in Western National Roundup

South Dakota 4-H had 25 youth participate in nine different events at the Western National Roundup held in Denver, Colorado January 5-9, 2022.

4-H First Aid & Health Project

First aid is the immediate care given to an injured or suddenly ill person and every person should be trained in how to administer first aid. First aid does not take the place of getting proper medical treatment by a qualified and licensed practitioner but knowing first aid and how to properly apply is important.

Gaining Life Skills and Helping Those in Need

Hope Baysinger, a fourth-generation 4-H member out of Sanborn County, S.D., credits 4-H for teaching her valuable life skills and giving her opportunities to help those in need.

4-H Consumer Education Project

The consumer education program seeks to grant youth the knowledge and skills to become more financially responsible consumers as youth are challenged to compare products, prices, and services that are a part of our everyday lives.

4-H Leadership Skills Development Project

The leadership skills development 4-H project area is designed for youth to identify and achieve the skills needed to be a good leader. These skills can be developed through experience in a group setting or leadership position or by participating in activities focusing on communication, organization, responsibility, and teamwork.
