As a fourth-generation 4-H member, Hope Baysinger bleeds green and white. Baysinger has become involved in an array of project areas, including: poultry, swine, goat, sheep, visual arts, foods and nutrition, clothing, hobbies and collections, home environment, horse, computers and technology, photography, horticulture, health and safety, shooting sports, as well as participating in fashion revue, public speaking, special foods and judging.
“If there is a project area that you enjoy, keep striving to learn and improve in the things you are interested in. Even if they are challenging, don’t give up!” advises Baysinger.
One unique opportunity Baysinger has been involved with is the Stuff-the-Turkey project. For this project, Baysingger was able to collect donations of winter apparel to be given to those in need.
“This service project was special to me, because I enjoy helping people in need,” says Baysinger. She also helped come up with the idea to donate tie blankets to the McCrossan Boys Ranch.
“4-H is my life! It has made many impacts on my life by teaching me skills, such as confidence, public speaking and self-motivation.”
