SDSU Extension invites South Dakotans to discover Better Choices, Better Health® SD through quarterly webinar sessions

BROOKINGS, S.D. – SDSU Extension is inviting South Dakotans to learn about free programs and resources that support healthy living and chronic disease self-management through a new series of Better Choices, Better Health® South Dakota Discovery Sessions.

Held quarterly over the next year, the virtual Discovery Sessions will introduce participants to Better Choices, Better Health® SD, a statewide self-management education program that helps adults build the skills and confidence needed to manage chronic conditions and improve quality of life.

The sessions are open to anyone interested in improving their health, supporting loved ones, volunteering or connecting their community with evidence-based wellness programs. Healthcare professionals, caregivers, community organizations and prospective partners are especially encouraged to attend.

"Discovery Sessions help individuals and organizations learn about the resources available through Better Choices, Better Health® SD and identify opportunities to become involved," said Megan Jacobson, SDSU Extension Chronic Disease Management Field Specialist. "Whether someone is looking for support in managing a chronic condition, interested in becoming a volunteer leader or wants to bring workshops to their community, these sessions are a great place to start."

All Discovery Sessions will be held virtually via Zoom from noon to 1 p.m. CDT on:

  • Oct. 7, 2026
  • Jan. 6, 2027
  • April 7, 2027
