Crop insurance late plant dates are fast approaching for planting small grains in South Dakota. Also, as a reminder, below are the maps for corn, soybean, and sunflower late plant dates. The weather and soil conditions this spring may lead to some prevent plant situations for farm producers. Producers will want to work with their crop insurance agent to explore planting options and reporting of prevent plant areas.

The maps from Risk Management Agency (RMA) show the late plant dates for counties in South Dakota. The late plant dates have not changed from 2018. A full listing of crops and late plant dates is available at the RMA website.
