The 2019 Eastern South Dakota Water Conference will be held Oct. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the campus of South Dakota State University in the Volstorff Ballroom of the University Student Union.
4-H members showcase their knowledge and skills during county achievement days and State Fair competitions.
SDSU Extension will host the 2019 Swine Day on Nov. 5 at 9 AM CDT at McCrory Gardens (631 22nd Ave., Brookings, SD 57006).

SDSU Extension will be hosting a Your Money, Your Goals program on October 1 at the Brookings Public Library, October 8 at the Sioux Falls Extension Regional Center, and November 5 at the Watertown Regional Library. Each program is open to the public, free of cost and will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

The Brookings School District has been awarded a 2019 Farm to School grant by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This planning grant, developed in partnership with SDSU Extension, the SDSU Fishback Center for Early Childhood Education and the SDSU Local Foods Education Center, will create the Brookings Farm to Early Care and Learning Initiative.
South Dakota 4-H Boosts Leadership Skills and Civic Engagement Through 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus

Learning about political processes in the vibrant, living classroom of the nation’s capital, 38 South Dakota 4-H youth participated in Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF), an intensive 4-H civic engagement program for high school youth. The program was held at the National 4-H Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Md., on June 15-23.
