Tai Chi

Group of older adults practicing tai chi

Tai Chi is an ancient practice based on the laws of nature and rooted in the history of non-competitive martial arts. Tai Chi is a safe and effective form of exercise that requires no equipment and can be performed in almost any setting.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention is an evidence-based beginner’s introduction to the mind/body practice of tai chi developed by Dr. Paul Lam and the Tai Chi for Health Institute, designed to provide pain relief, reduce fall risk, improve balance, muscle strength and flexibility in weekly workshops. This program follows “Sun style” tai chi which uses a higher stance and slow, deliberate movements which are great for beginners and those with arthritis but is open to anyone.
