Fayth Martin is an active six-year South Dakota 4-H member in the Lightning Bugs 4-H Club in Haakon County, S.D. She has many passions, memories, skills and great experiences in 4-H.

Martin is in the seventh grade at Philip Middle School in Philip, S.D. She is involved in many project areas, including: visual arts, community service, rodeo, horse and pony, livestock, clothing and textiles, companion animal—and the list goes on. She has succeeded in these areas and continues to expand her list of project areas.

Some of Martin's memories include her community service projects and working with horses. She is an avid civic-minded individual, completing a variety of different community service projects, including: making surgical caps to donate to the Sioux Falls Children’s Hospital, sewing dresses for children in Haiti, making ponchos for kids and adults, and many other projects that impact her community, state and world.

Horses are a big part of Martin’s 4-H experience, as she enjoys working with horses, showing them and being involved in rodeo.

“Have patience. With the stuff that we do in 4-H, sometimes you have to wait your turn, but you will enjoy the experience.”

— Fayth Martin, Haakon County 4-H

Martin is empowered to excel in 4-H because of the people that surround her. She loves helping kids learn, whether it is through presentations or helping them complete projects. She is very proud of helping kids learn and grow.

The biggest piece of advice she can give is, “Have patience. With the stuff that we do in 4-H, sometimes you have to wait your turn, but you will enjoy the experience.”

Fayth is a tremendous 4-Her, and her work influences people everywhere. She is ready to continue to grow and strive for excellence through 4-H.
