SDSU Extension 4-H awards 2024 scholarships

Fourteen youth from across the state were selected to receive these awards. Youth with at least five years of active membership in 4-H, current high school seniors, or those enrolled at SDSU are eligible to apply for the scholarships. These scholarships are funded through donors and SDSU Extension’s 4-H program.

Six youths in the shooting sports program will receive scholarships funded through entrance fees paid at the shooting sports state match. A committee of volunteers reviews the applicants and selects the top candidates.

The Purposeful Retirement Online Book Club will meet online via Zoom every other Wednesday for six sessions. Sessions are at 10 a.m. CDT/9 a.m. MT, starting on Sept. 11, 2024.

Sunflower Moths Observed in South Dakota

Sunflower moths have been observed in South Dakota sunflower fields this week. Sunflower heads are most susceptible to damage caused by the sunflower moth caterpillars from the onset of flowering to when the ray petals begin drying.
