BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State University Extension is pleased to welcome Paul Rann as the new Program Manager for Urban Economic Development within the Ness School of Management of Economics.
Rann is based at the Startup Sioux Falls office in downtown Sioux Falls. His role includes planning, coordinating and leading programming for the outpost.
“The core idea is connecting the Ness School, its work, expertise, resources and thought leadership to the Sioux Falls community and the surrounding area,” said Rann.
A native of Lennox, Rann noted he is a fourth-generation South Dakotan. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science, public relations and advertising from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, and a master’s in business administration from the University of Sioux Falls.
His prior work experiences include working as a deputy finance director on U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate campaigns, foundation executive director for the Huron Regional Medical Center, and various leadership roles at Talent Plus Inc., a talent consulting firm based in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Rann is excited to help Sioux Falls-area businesses and organizations by connecting them with the Ness School's work, expertise, resources and thought leadership.
“As our inaugural SDSU Extension Program Manager for Urban Economic Development based at Startup Sioux Falls, Paul Rann is well positioned to learn the challenges to and opportunities for growth in the Sioux Falls-area business community, and to work with the community and his Ness School colleagues to enrich the region’s ecosystem of innovation and enterprise,” said Joseph Santos, professor and director of the Ness School of Management and Economics.
