SDSU Extension will host a six-part ecological landscape design class at McCrory Gardens (631 22nd Ave., Brookings, SD 57007) every other Thursday from August 13 to October 1 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and October 11 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

SDSU Extension will host an informational sunflower webinar focusing on red sunflower seed weevil management on August 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Dakota Sunflower StoryWalk
SDSU Extension will host a StoryWalk during the Fort Thompson Annual Wacipi, August 14-16, from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. each day at the Fort Thompson Powwow Grounds.
State Dog Show - Central Championships
The Central Championships of the 2026 State Dog Show will take place Saturday, August 15, at the Davison County 4-H Complex (3200 W. Havens Ave., Mitchell, SD 57031).
