Aging well is a priority for many older adults and their families. They want practical tools and knowledge to maintain a high quality of life as they age. These workshops will be held in February, March, and April via Zoom, making it easy for anyone with internet access to join. For those without technology, local organizations are invited to host watch parties.
Many people think estate planning begins and ends with a Will when they die – but there’s much more involved. This webinar explains the key documents and decision-makers that come into play during life, incapacity, and after death. We’ll demystify fiduciary roles like trustees, personal representatives, agents, guardians and conservators, and explain how you can tailor your planning to make sure you aren’t leaving your loved ones a mess.
Objectives
- Learn the difference between wills, trusts, and probate.
- Understand who makes financial and healthcare decisions during incapacity.
- Explore guardianship and conservatorship scenarios and when they arise.
- Understand fiduciary duties and why your selections matter.
- Learn about common tax and asset protection considerations that come into play with estate planning.
- Learn how to avoid some common estate planning mistakes.
