Samantha DeVaney is the SDSU Extension SNAP-Ed and EFNEP Program Manager overseeing direct education for the Healthy Families & Communities Program. Direct education is provided by several educators located throughout the state, using evidence-based curricula focused on teaching people how to eat healthy and be physically active on a budget. Hands-on learning is used to teach cooking techniques and kitchen safety. Food safety, basic nutrition, food budgeting, food resource management and much more are taught throughout a series of lessons.
