What is a community champion?

  • Collaborate with South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension Staff and grant team to conduct community needs assessments.
  • Provide support to community to determine assets and identify intervention strategies to create healthier lifestyles.
  • Work with SDSU Extension Staff and grant team members to identify and implement community intervention strategies that focus on improving community wellness.
  • Identify and recruit Community Wellness Coalition members.
  • In collaboration with Extension staff, facilitate Community Wellness Coalition meetings and community conversations.
