Whitney is a public health professional with a Master of Public Health degree from South Dakota State University. Her work as SDSU Extension's Health and Community Field Specialist is to provide programming and resources to improve the health and wellness of communities. Whitney supports the citizens of South Dakota in various physical activity, mental health, and wellness program areas, helping influence healthy lifestyle changes.

    Programs and Services

  • Physical activity: Volunteer-led classes, virtual challenges, health promotion for rural communities, and collaborative efforts with the SD Department of Health, including South Dakota Walkable Communities
  • Mental health: Facilitation for adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) trainings
  • Food preservation: Education and resources on safe food preservation methods, pressure canner dial-gauge testing, and Master Food Preserver Volunteer program lead
