South Dakota Virtual Vegetable Short Course

Developed with contributions by Rhoda Burrows, former Professor & SDSU Extension Horticulture Specialist.

The short course will provide practical, science-based vegetable production information for small and medium-scale commercial specialty crop farm applications. The goal of the vegetable short course is to empower South Dakota vegetable producers to improve and expand their operations. Commercial specialty crop farmers, gardeners, Master Gardeners, non-profit and business partners, and the public are welcome to attend.

Topics will include season extension, soil health, weed management, cover crop integration, and adapting to extreme weather events. Sessions will be moderated by SDSU Extension specialists Kristine Lang, Assistant Professor & SDSU Extension Consumer Horticulture Specialist and Rhoda Burrows, former Professor & SDSU Extension Horticulture Specialist. This year’s event will feature farmers, students, and extension specialists from South Dakota and Illinois. Attendees will have plenty of time to ask questions and engage with each presenter.
