West River Research and Extension is located on the eastern side of Rapid City near Menards. The building houses both SDSU West River Research and SDSU Extension, with SDSU Extension’s offices downstairs. When entering the parking lot, turn right. The entrance is on the side nearest the stoplight.

  • Commercial Applicator Testing: Tests are offered in four-hour time blocks, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 1:00-5:00 p.m. Call to schedule an appointment.
  • Livestock Water Testing: On-site livestock water testing services is offered at this location.

The office is one block west and one block south of the stoplight in Winner. The building is a former middle school, also housing other city and state agencies.

  • Classroom: There is a smart classroom with seating for 25 that is available to rent. Rental rates are available for full or half days. It is $50 for a half day without technology or $75 with technology; a full day without technology is $100 or $150 with technology.
