SDSU Extension provides a cohort-based model to welcome you to the organization, connect you to a network of peers, and help you excel in your position. The goals of our orientation and onboarding program are for you to better understand SDSU Extension as an organization, discover resources to help you in your work, and develop a network with other new employees.

  • Provide a common experience for all Extension employees to have the knowledge and resources needed to engage and succeed within the organization
  • Instill a culture of learning, collaboration, and community engagement
  • Establish connections and relationships with a cohort of peers and the SDSU Extension administration
  • Model best practices and effective techniques for teaching, communication, and work performance

Please note that this is not an orientation specific to your position. Your direct supervisor will conduct a more specific onboarding process with you to clarify job roles, responsibilities, expectations, and policies and procedures applicable to you.

SDSU Extension administration will fund the program for new full-time hires, including on-site costs and facilitators. In the event a participant needs to stay overnight, please follow all university travel policies.

Registration must be completed, using the form below, in order to attend. For more information, contact Aimee Ladonski, SDSU Extension Professional Development Specialist.
