SDSU Extension to host ‘Annie’s Inspired’ webinar series for women in ag

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State University Extension is hosting a series of free webinars for anyone involved in agriculture.  

Annie’s Project is a program is designed for women in agriculture to gain knowledge and networking opportunities. The Annie’s Project-inspired webinars are open to all and will focus on managing risk in today’s agricultural environment. The first round will begin in November focusing on livestock production and management.

These one-hour webinars start at 7 p.m. CST on Nov. 17, 24 and Dec. 1, 2025. All webinar sessions are free to attend, but registration is required to receive the Zoom link. To register, visit the SDSU Extension Events page and search “annie”.

“The intent is for participants to attend the webinar sessions that interest them from the comforts of their own home or wherever travels may lead them,” said Robin Salverson, SDSU Extension Cow/Calf Field Specialist.

On Nov. 17, Jaelyn Whaley, SDSU Extension Sheep Field Specialist, will guide the attendees through the nutritional requirements and management of both sheep and goats during pregnancy.  

Nov. 24’s webinar will be led by Kaylee Wheeler, SDSU Extension Range Field Specialist. Wheeler will highlight how winter grazing can be implemented while managing both the plant and the animal.  

On Dec. 1, Taylor Grussing, SDSU Extension Cow Calf Field Specialist will discuss calving season and how preparation can reduce stress for animals and operators.

“Our goal with these webinars is to equip participants with the knowledge to help them navigate the upcoming months with confidence,” Salverson said.

Annie’s Project is a national program with the mission to empower women in agriculture to be successful through education, networks and resources.
