BROOKINGS, S.D. – Registration is still open for the 2026 Eastern South Dakota Water Conference on Oct. 7, 2026, in Brookings.
The conference, hosted by the South Dakota Water Resources Institute and South Dakota State University Extension, is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT at the McCrory Gardens and Visitor Center. Doors open at 8 a.m.
Registration is $85 for adults and professionals or $25 for students, which includes lunch. To register, visit the SDSU Extension Events page and search “water”.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Balancing Economic Development with South Dakota Water Resources,” where local, state and federal stakeholders will discuss economic development and industry growth, water rights and availability, and natural resource protection.
“We have a great lineup of speakers this year whose variety of topics should generate plenty of discussion,” said David Kringen, SDSU Extension Water Resources Field Specialist.
