Women have unique financial needs. Women, on average, live longer than men, earn less than men, and have gaps in their employment history. The goal of Money Talk for Women is to increase participant’s knowledge on the topics of financial basics, estate planning, insurance, investing, and retirement planning.
By the end of the program, participants will have developed a personal financial plan. This plan will include steps to meet financial goals, saving plans, debt management plans, and assessment of insurance needs. A personal financial plan will empower participants to become more confident in making financial decisions to improve long-term financial security.
The program will use a hybrid format, participants will independently complete assignments online, and meet once a week virtually with the group and facilitator. Online live sessions will include discussions and presentations by guest speakers about the topic of the week. The book “Money Talk: A Financial Guide for Women” by Patricia Brennan and Barbara O’Neill will be provided for all participants. Online sessions will be held in the evening from 6:30 – 8 pm (CT).
