SDSU Extension invites all wheat producers, agronomists, and agricultural professionals to attend the upcoming Spring Wheat Variety Tours on Monday, June 29, at the following times and locations:
- Agar, SD – 10:00 a.m. CDT
- Wall, SD – 2:00 p.m. MT
These tours will be located within the SDSU Crop Performance Testing (CPT) program, which evaluates spring wheat varieties within relevant field conditions across South Dakota. This is a unique opportunity to walk the plots, observe variety performance firsthand, and engage in meaningful discussions about agronomic characteristics such as disease resistance, standability, drought tolerance, and yield potential.
The program will also allow time for farmer networking and Q&A with SDSU Extension personnel, and attendees will have a chance to win a soil probe giveaway. Whether you’re looking to refine your variety lineup, stay informed about new releases, or learn more about ongoing research, these tours are designed to provide practical, field-based information to support on-farm decisions.
