The day will include a student poster competition, expert presentations, and a keynote speaker.

  • 9:00 a.m. – Continental breakfast and student poster competition
  • 10:00 a.m. – Welcome & Animal Science update: Dr. John Jaeger, Head of Animal Science/Professor Department of Animal Science, SDSU
  • 10:15 a.m. – Industry update from and economist’s perspective: Matt Erickson, Terrain / Farm Credit Services
  • 11:00 a.m. – SDSU swine research update: Dr. Crystal Levesque & Dr. Eric Weaver, Department of Animal Science, SDSU
  • 12:15 p.m. – Lunch
  • 1:15 p.m. – Recognize sponsors and announce poster winners
  • 1:30 p.m. – Keynote Speaker: Glenn Muller, Executive Director, South Dakota Pork Producers Association
  • 2:15 p.m. – SDSU Swine Research and Extension; Past, Present, & Future: Dr. Robert Thaler, Distinguished Professor/Endowed Chair in Swine Production, Department of Animal Science, SDSU
