  • Format: In-Person
  • Where: Rock Garden Nursery, 2000 North Dr, Sioux Falls, SD 57104
  • Contact: Lora Perkins, Professor and SDSU Extension Native Plant Specialist

Visit the SDSU Native Plant Initiative at Rock Garden Nursery (2000 North Dr, Sioux Falls, SD 57104) on June 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a Native Plant Expo in a beautiful garden setting.

Native plants grown by SDSU students using local seed will be available for sale, and SDSU faculty, Extension Field Specialists, and students will be on hand to answer questions. Short presentations will highlight native seed storage, seed source selection, the cost-benefit of using plugs versus seeds, and native plants that support birds. Many themed plant packs will be available, along with plenty of individual species. Look for our Rock Garden Pack, with plants for a dry, sunny site or rock garden; Jack’s Pack, with plants that have yellow and blue flowers; and the Grass Pack, with native grasses for texture and habitat. Come check out our cute little native ball cactus, grown from seed and available in terracotta pots.
