The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) is the lead agency administering the pesticide certification program required by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). SDSU Extension partners with DANR to offer training programs.
Those who apply pesticides for hire or as an employee that applies pesticides while performing work duties, must have a commercial applicator license. Existing applicators may complete recertification online.

The 2026 online course will be offered through Traininghouse and will be open from December 3, 2025, until February 28, 2026. Select the categories you would like and complete the online registration process below. You will receive instructions via email to access the course.
