Kylee Alvey is an SDSU Extension Family and Community Health Associate serving Oglala Lakota County. She is passionate about supporting healthier, more active communities through place-based, collaborative solutions. Kylee’s work focuses on increasing access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity, with an emphasis on long-term, sustainable change. In her role, Kylee collaborates with community members to understand unique challenges and strengths, co-creating solutions that are accessible, culturally relevant and grounded in real-life experiences. Through her work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-funded High Obesity Program, she helps build community and local capacity by partnering with organizations and people to create sustainable wellness strategies, including food access programs, and built environment changes to promote physical activity.
