SDSU Extension to host Strong Minds, Strong Farms webinar series

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State University Extension is hosting a series of free health and wellness webinars for anyone involved in agriculture.

Strong Minds, Strong Farms is a three-part series that will explore physical activity, financial habits and eating well on a budget. The Annie’s Project-inspired webinars are open to all.

“Our SDSU Extension women in agriculture team wants to provide information that helps the individuals we work with be healthy so they can be confident carrying out their role in the farm or ranch operation,” said Lorna Saboe-Wounded Head, SDSU Extension Family Resource Management Field Specialist. “Offering programs that impact our wellbeing can improve the lives of individuals and families in the ag industry.”

These one-hour webinars start at 7 p.m. CST on Feb. 23, March 2 and March 9, 2026. All webinar sessions are free to attend, but registration is required to receive the Zoom link. To register, visit the SDSU Extension Events page and search “Annie”.

Feb. 23 – “Movement that Fits Your Life”. Erin Hallenbeck, SDSU Extension Health and Physical Activity Field Specialist, will present on how to rethink physical activity in a way that feels realistic, flexible and sustainable. Participants will explore motivation, mindset and fitness for longevity while learning how to fit movement into busy lives.

March 2 – “Spring Budget Reset”. Saboe-Wounded Head will teach participants how to refresh their financial habits by learning practical strategies to track their spending and create a realistic budget. The session will provide adaptable tools to help participants feel more confident, organized and in control of their financial decisions.

March 9 – “Eat Well, Spend Less”. Jessica Meuleners, SDSU Extension Nutrition Field Specialist, will provide participants with simple, doable strategies to plan meals, stretch grocery budgets and reduce food waste. This presentation will share tools and tips tailored for busy households and farm families looking to save time and money without sacrificing nutrition.

“Each program offers strategies and tools that can be implemented to improve the wellbeing of farm and ranch families,” said Saboe-Wounded Head.
