Have you ever wanted to learn how to collect and preserve insects? Insect displays can be made into beautiful pieces of artwork, educational tools, or serve as fun and unique fair projects! Join SDSU Extension 4-H for an entomology workshop for youth, ages 8-18, on June 11, from 9:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Fairgrounds Exhibit Building (N. Fairgrounds St., Faith, SD 57626).
Discover how to build your own collection by attending this hands-on workshop. Each attendee will receive a kit that includes all the materials they need to get started (e.g., sweep net, pins, display case, etc.). They will then learn what to do with the items in their kits and have an opportunity to put them to use. This workshop will teach youth the proper techniques on how to catch, handle, and pin insects to create amazing displays of their own!
