Rebecca Beeson

Becky’s diverse background in both health care and customer service equips her with the skills, empathy, and insight needed to drive positive community change. Her lived experience enables her to focus on fostering healthier communities through compassion, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills. As an SDSU Extension Family and Community Health Associate in Charles Mix, Douglas, and Gregory Counties, Becky delivers programs that cover basic nutrition, cooking skills, food safety, food resource management, and physical activity. In her role in Charles Mix County, she collaborates with community partners to implement changes in policies, systems, and environments that promote healthier lifestyles. Additionally, through the Better Choices, Better Health program, Becky serves citizens statewide by co-leading workshops that empower individuals affected by chronic diseases. Her commitment to improving the health and well-being of South Dakotans—both now and in the future—is at the heart of her work with Extension.
