SDSU Extension's South Dakota 4-H program will host the South Dakota 4-H Performing Arts Camp June 12-18 at Northern State University (1200 S. Jay Street, Aberdeen, SD 57401) for ages 13 (or have completed 7th grade) to 18.
The camp prepares youth to perform during the week at summer venues and at the 2022 South Dakota State Fair in Huron, SD, September 1-5. This is a public event, open to 4-H members and non-4-H members.
Check in is Sunday, June 12, mid-afternoon, on the NSU campus in Aberdeen. After Troupe members check in at camp, they are not permitted to drive their cars or leave campus.
Parents need to accompany youth who must leave camp for any reason (please do not schedule appointments during camp week). Following the Sunday evening meal, all youth will informally audition for roles as narrators, small group performers, soloists and dancers.
- To have our best performances, the two camp shows in Aberdeen, and the five shows during the 2022 South Dakota State Fair should be attended by all Troupe members. We MUST be made aware of any conflicts as soon as possible.
A free-will offering is appreciated at the performances. Campers will be dismissed approximately noon on Saturday, June 18 following the final camp performance and check out.
The cost of registration is $425. The early registration discount of $25 ends on May 15 and the deadline to register is May 31. For more information contact Amanda Stade, SDSU Extension State 4-H Events Management Coordinator.
