BROOKINGS, S.D. – SDSU Extension is hosting Your Money, Your Goals March 19, 2019 at the Brookings Public Library, Cooper Room B (515 3rd St.). The program will run from 6 – 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
A financial empowerment program, Your Money, Your Goals is designed to help consumers meet their financial goal by increasing their knowledge, skills and resources, explained Lorna Wounded Head, SDSU Extension Family Resource Management Field Specialist and program leader.
“This program is for anyone who wants to get more control over his or her finances. Have you ever felt like your money is controlling you or that you are limited in making decisions about spending your money? Do you feel like you don’t have money to plan ahead for future financial goals? Your Money, Your Goals program will provide you with knowledge and skills for your financial management practices.”
During the workshop, Wounded Head will instruct participants about tracking income and spending and organizing paying bills/expenses. Each participant will receive a booklet called “Behind on Bills? Start with One Step.”
“Participants of Your Money, Your Goals programs walk away feeling more confident about creating a spending plan, saving, managing debt, and prioritizing bills/expenses,” Wounded Head said.
This program is designed for all ages and economic levels.
