Moody County Mental Health Day on January 26

BROOKINGS, S.D. - SDSU Extension and Moody County Cares invite local South Dakota families and community members to attend a mental health education program on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at the Flandreau Elementary School (600 W Community Dr, Flandreau, SD 57028). The program will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Registration is not required, and there is no cost.

Featured speakers include Tom Roberts, author of “A New Norm” and Dr. Krista Ehlert, who will present information from SDSU Extension about farm and ranch stress. Roberts wrote the book about a boy named Norm who goes through a time of crisis and through his journey comes to realize that there is hope. Ehlert will discuss how to identify stress signs and symptoms, everyday strategies for managing stress, how to build an action plan for managing stress, and where to go for more help and resources.
