SDSU Extension will host Walk with Ease January 28 - March 8, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church (337 8th Street, Brookings, SD 57006). This program will teach you to start walking safely and stick with it.
Participants will meet each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM CST. Sessions include a brief education discussion, warm-up and cool-down exercises, and a 10-35 minute walk at your own pace. You can also do the activities and exercises on your own using the class materials. If you use a device like a cane or a walker to help you get around, you can still participate in the program.
This program is certified by the Arthritis Foundation and doctor recommended. The Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease Program is an exercise program that can reduce pain and improve overall health. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, you can have success with Walk With Ease.
