South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension will be hosting a farm stress webinar at 11 a.m. MT/noon CST, the first Tuesday of the month through September.
This series is geared for producers, their families and the general public who might have an interest in supporting our rural communities. The webinars will begin in May during Mental Health Awareness Month and will end in September during the National Suicide Prevention Week, providing bookends for information that will cover farm stress, managing stress, mental health first aid, mindfulness, wellness and suicide prevention.
- June 1: “Intro to Mental Health First Aid,” Lorna Saboe-Wounded Head, SDSU Extension Family Resource Management Field Specialist and Olivia Amundson, SDSU Extension Cow/Calf Field Specialist.
- July 6: “Mindfulness,” Amber Letcher, Associate Professor and SDSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Specialist
- Aug. 3: “Wellness/Wellbeing,” Hope Kleine, SDSU Extension Health Education and Food Safety Field Specialist
- Sept. 7: “Suicide Prevention,” Andrea Bjornestad, Associate Professor and SDSU Extension Mental Health Specialist
