SDSU Extension will be hosting a certification course for BQA Transportation on Dec. 10 at 1 PM CDT at the Sioux Falls Regional Livestock (28168 Commerce Ave., Worthing, SD 57077).
This training allows cattle haulers and producers to get BQA Transportation (BQAT) certified. Major packers require BQAT certification prior to January 1, 2020. Individuals directly delivering to packers will need to provide BQAT certification prior to unloading cattle. Transporters include both farmer feeders and commercial truckers, essentially any individual hauling directly to a harvest facility.
This is the last in-person BQAT certification offered for farmer, rancher, or professional driver hauling cattle in SD, IA, and MN for 2019.
12 miles south of Sioux Falls, turn east right off I-29 Canton Exit #62 or 9 miles west of Canton on Hwy 18.
Please register by December 10, cost is $25. For more information contact Heidi Carroll, SDSU Extension Livestock Stewardship Field Specialist & SD BQA Coordinator at 605.688.6623 or by email.
