BQA Transportation Certification Course @ Mitchell

Wednesday, August 17

SDSU Extension will host a certification course for Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Transportation on Wednesday, August 17 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. CDT at the SDSU Extension Mitchell Regional Center (1800 E Spruce St, Mitchell, South Dakota 57301).

The BQA Transportation certification is a requirement to deliver cattle to any major beef packer. Individuals are encouraged to ensure that their BQA Transportation certification is up to date prior to delivering cattle and discuss delivery expectations with the businesses you deliver cattle to, so there are not interruptions in marketing cattle.

The BQA Transportation certification is a three-year certification. Haulers and producers must re-certify every three years to remain current.

In-person BQA Transportation certification courses are limited in South Dakota. South Dakota cattle haulers and producers residing near surrounding state borders may attend a BQA Transportation certification offered in any state. Likewise, producers from other states may attend a South Dakota BQA Transportation certification training to receive their BQA Transportation certification.

An online training course is also available for cattle haulers and producers needing to certify or renew their BQA Transportation certification. Individuals can complete the online BQA Transportation certification course at www.bqa.org.

The South Dakota BQA program is coordinated by SDSU Extension and is funded in part by the South Dakota Beef Industry Council and the Beef Checkoff.

Registration

Pre-registration is required for all in-person South Dakota BQA Transportation trainings. Those interested can register for the event using the form below. The cost is $25 per person.
